The selfie check and your face data
Every profile on Flowting is selfie-verified. The selfie check shows that you’re the person in your photos. It doesn’t check your identity, and it doesn’t mean someone is safe.
How it works
- You take a short selfie and follow a random step, like turning your head or blinking.
- We compare it with the photos where you’re alone, and check that it’s a live person, not a screen or a print.
- If the result is unclear, you get a second try. If it’s still unclear, a person on our team looks.
If you change the photos where you’re alone, you take a new selfie.
Your face data
- Face codes are made for each check and deleted within seconds. We never keep a face code of a member.
- Selfie images are deleted when the check ends. If a person needs to look, we keep them 30 days at most.
- Match scores are deleted 30 days after the decision.
- If we ban an account for safety reasons, we keep a face code of that person for 24 months, so they can’t come back. Never for anyone else.
Change your mind
You agree to face checks before you add photos. To withdraw, go to You › Settings › Your permissions. Without this permission, you can’t say yes to anyone until you agree again.
