Flowting Law Enforcement Guide

Last updated: October 11, 2026
This guide is for police, prosecutors and other authorities who need data about a Flowting account. Members can read it too, to understand how we handle these requests.
Flowting is run by VeriTek L.L.C-FZ, Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Orders to remove content (for example under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021, the EU Digital Services Act or the UK Online Safety Act)

Questions about this guide
We accept requests in English. Please send them from an official government email address. We confirm receipt by email.
We do not accept requests from private individuals or lawyers acting for private parties through this route. They can use the normal legal process of their country.

2. What to include

  • Your name, rank or title, agency, official email and phone number
  • The account you are asking about: the email address used to sign up, or the Flowting profile link or user number shown in the app. A name and photo alone may not be enough
  • What data you need, and for what period. Narrow requests are answered faster
  • The legal basis and, for legal process, a copy of the signed document
  • For emergencies: what the danger is, why it is urgent, and how the data will help prevent it

We do not have
Our retention periods are in our Privacy Policy, section 12. When an account is deleted, most data is gone within 30 days. Messages are kept for 90 days after an unmatch, block or deletion, for safety reports. We can keep data longer if you send a preservation request in time.

4. Preservation

On a valid request, we freeze a copy of the account's data for 90 days while you obtain legal process. You can extend this once by another 90 days. We do not tell the member about a preservation request.
When we learn of a serious safety case (for example a report of harm on a date), we preserve the data of both people ourselves, even before any request.

5. Emergencies

If you believe that someone faces a risk of death or serious physical injury now, we may give you data without legal process. We decide case by case. We give only the data needed to deal with the emergency.
If we learn of a threat to someone's life or safety through Flowting, we may contact the authorities ourselves. Where the law requires it, we tell the police at once: for example, under Article 18 of the EU Digital Services Act we inform the police of the EU country concerned, or Europol if we cannot tell which country.

6. Child safety

We report apparent child sexual abuse material and child exploitation to the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline, and to other authorities where the law requires, for example the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (Cybertip.ca) and the police in Canada, and the eSafety Commissioner in Australia. We keep the reported content and related data securely for 1 year, as US law requires, or longer if an authority asks.

7. Legal process

Which requests we answer. We answer legal process that is valid under the law that applies to us and to the data. This usually means:
  • process from the country where the member is located or where the crime happened, if answering it is lawful for us, or
  • a request through an international treaty process (for example a mutual legal assistance treaty), or
  • an EU order under the e-Evidence Regulation, through our EU representative, once we serve people in the EU.
What we check. We check that each request is genuine, lawful, specific and proportionate. We may push back on, narrow or refuse requests that are too broad, unclear, or do not meet these standards.
Requests we refuse. We will refuse requests that seek to investigate or punish consensual relationships between adults, or a person's sexual orientation or gender identity, as far as the law allows us. Flowting does not show anyone's sexual orientation, and in countries where same-gender relationships are against the law, LGBTQ+ profiles are hidden.
Deadlines. Emergency requests: as fast as we can, normally within hours. EU emergency production orders: within 8 hours. Other requests: within 10 business days where we can, or by the deadline the law sets.

8. Telling the member

Our policy is to tell members about requests for their data before we hand it over, so they can seek legal advice. We do not tell them when:
  • the law or a court order forbids it
  • telling them would put someone at risk of harm, or harm an emergency response
  • the request is about child exploitation
  • the account was used to commit fraud and telling would help the fraud
If a ban on telling the member ends, we may tell them then.

9. Our company location

VeriTek is a company in the United Arab Emirates. Our servers are in the United States. Photos and selfie images are stored in the European Union. The laws of these places, and of the places where we offer Flowting, can all apply to a request. We follow the law that applies, and this guide, in that order.

10. Members and victims

If you are a member and someone harmed you, report it in the app and contact the police. When the police ask us, we can share the evidence we hold. You do not need to send it to us yourself. Our Safety Tips list help lines.
