Photo rules

Add 3 to 6 photos of you. Your first photo is your main photo, and it needs to show your face clearly.

What works

  • Recent photos where people can see you.
  • Swimwear and shirtless photos are fine. Your main photo still needs to show your face clearly.
  • Group photos are fine. A person checks them first.

What we don’t allow

  • Nudity, lingerie or sexual poses.
  • Contact details, like handles, phone numbers or QR codes.
  • Screenshots, or photos of someone else.
  • Weapons, drugs, violence or hate symbols.
  • Photos with children.
  • Photos too blurry or dark to see you.

How photos are checked

Every photo is checked when you add it. A person looks at any photo the check flags. If a photo isn’t approved, we tell you why. To ask a person to look again, go to You › Settings › Account status.

Why a photo may be hidden in some countries

A few countries, like the UAE, have strict laws about photos. To respect the law there, people browsing from those countries don’t see photos with:
  • swimwear or no shirt
  • a revealing outfit
  • a kiss or a couple
  • a Pride symbol
Everyone else sees all your approved photos. Nothing is removed, and it never counts against you.
  • We tell you under each photo if it’s hidden in those countries.
  • While we’re still checking a photo, it stays hidden there.
  • There, the first photo people can see becomes your main photo. If none can be shown, people browsing there don’t see your profile.
